BOOKING FOR INDIA WOOD 2018

OPENS ON THE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED' BASIS

mid the GST speculation, the booking for the 10 th edition of IndiaWood 2018 is on, which is based on the ‘first come first served’ basis. The date of this bi-annual trade fair for the woodworking and furniture manufacturing sector has already been announced. It will be held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre from 8 to12 March, 2018. The representations from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Myanmar, Malaysia, Bhutan, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia and from across the world, are coming to participate the event.

IndiaWood 2018, the largest trade fair outside Europe & USA for Woodworking machinery, accessories and raw materials, has been reported to expand the space area. 38,000 square metres of exhibition space was allotted to the last edition which has been increased to 50,000 square metres.


According to the local reliable resources, regular exhibitors are requesting for more space. And PDA Trade Fairs has been reported to already add more than 17,000 square metres to the existing halls at the BIEC. The 5-days trade fair is supposed to attract more than 60,000 visitors from the global ground.

By the time, IndiaWood 2018 will take place, GST would be fully effective. The wood and furniture industry along with other industries would have experienced its clear effects. There would be clarity on taxation, ease in the movement of goods.

“One primary reason of IndiaWood 2018 for attracting more entrepreneurs, creating encouraging environment in the plywood industry is that GST is expected to reduce the cost of manufacturing, ease inter-state trade and logistics”, added one of the Bangalore based plywood manufacturers.


The IndiaWood 2018 is prepared to welcome more than 600 companies that represent vast woodworking machineries, furniture production technologies, fittings, tools, accessories, raw materials and products.


More than thousands of woodworkers, craftsmen, furniture manufacturers; dealers and manufacturers of hardware and accessories; plywood and particle board manufacturers & traders; and the woodworking ecosystem from India and South-East Asian and South Asian countries is expected to attend the IndiaWood 2018.
